Glass Animals & Joey Bada$$ Lose Control

This week, experimental indie rockers Glass Animals meet New York rapper Joey Badass and create a surprisingly good collaboration track. As somebody who is familiar with both artists, I was pleasantly surprised. The smooth, liquid sound of Glass Animals mixed with rapid attack vocals of Joey Badass provides an engaging combination.

The song begins with strange, eerie sounding instrumentals. Joey Badass starts in on this beat and slowly picks the intensity until the catchy, singalong chorus begins. These types of rock/rap collaborations have always intrigued me. There are just certain genres that mash together well, and this song is a great example of indie and rap melding together into a completely new animal. Recently Ghostface Killah released an album with BADBADNOTGOOD, and this single very much resembles that.

Overall takes is a fresh, minimalistic approach to alternative hip-hop and it think that it yields great results. I would like to hear more collaborations from these two groups in the near future.Lose Control
